l am a qualified MA in Clinical Psychology and MA in Child/Adolescent Psychotherapy  specialized in Play Therapy. I have been in practice for over 7 years. My current private practice is in Touch Stone Play Therapy Centre based in Laois area.

 

I also carry over 10 years' experience working with children in different environments as well as experience working with people with disabilities.

 

Play therapy is a form of counselling and/or psychotherapy that uses play to communicate with and help people, especially children, to prevent or resolve psychosocial challenges due to disruption in their life.
This therapeutic intervention supports towards better social integration, growth and development, emotional modulation, trauma resolution and is guided by theory and relationship.

The work done is based on the needs of the client and at the pace of the client. These needs/themes can be translated to the adults in the young person's life. Another part of the work is to provide resources to the client/adults to help in their situation. Each client is individual and can benefit from the sessions while also experiencing the fun of play.
